A few weeks ago, we learned that the Arsene's pack was on the list of packs that could be shot since December 1st and in 2024. We suspected this, given the pressure from certain politicians who, as soon as the new Ordinance was announced, jumped at the chance to shoot as many wolves as possible, in just a few short days.
We hesitated as to how we were going to deal with this news which, as you can imagine, was likely to put a possible end to our project. We took the time to think it over, and decided to go ahead with it because, let's be clear, shooting all these packs and individuals will be totally impossible in two months. And the possible shooting of one or more members of the Arsene's pack, or of neighbouring packs, could lead to an even more important aspect : the study of the possible consequences of all these culls on the pack, the management of its numbers, organization and territory. We'll be focusing on attacks on herds, to study whether they are stagnating, increasing or decreasing, depending on the individuals taken.
We've also decided to stop hiding the identity of the pack, which will be revealed, along with many as yet untold aspects of "Wolf Mission", on a renowned European TV show. We'll talk openly about our study, the mission we've embarked upon, who we are, and the hassles we've encountered with certain opponents who've tried to put a stop to an inconvenient project ! We'd like to make one thing clear : our collaboration with official bodies consists of providing information on all aspects of the project, the study, its results and progress, in the interests of transparency and legality.
In the "News" section, we'll be giving you updates on the broadcasting of this show, and from now on, we'll be doing a lot more publicity for "Wolf Mission", so that people in Switzerland, Europe and the rest of the world can follow our progress. We would like to thank James and his production team, as well as the many biologists around the world who have helped us and continue to do so. As "Wolf Mission" moves beyond borders, we know that now is the time to focus on information, education and transparency to combat the ignorance and hatred that populate politics, here and elsewhere.
We hope to be able to report, by February, that Arsene's pack has suffered little or no shooting, and that this will be the case in Switzerland. In the coming weeks, we'll be posting more videos to show you the year 2023 of this pack, which has killed very few farm animals indeed.
See you soon for the TV show, find out who's behind "Wolf Mission" and find out more about the Arsene's pack...
