SPECIAL REPORT - CANIDS, THE REAL DANGERS FOR HUMANS TODAY

It's impossible to talk about wolves without mentioning the tenacious fear that haunts human minds. Tales, legends, myths, historical accounts, town hall records, gossip, political instrumentalization, this subject appears far too often, not to say almost daily, on social networks or even in the press. But what are the real dangers to humans in terms of incidents & attacks today ? Which canine really poses the most problems ? How can we better understand how canids function and behave ? How can we give our dogs a life worthy of their species ?

Through this special report, which covers various aspects (science, ethology, history, veterinary and behavioral approaches to canids, statistics, etc.) and has been simplified for better understanding, we hope to offer the Swiss public the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and make them truly aware of the reality of the dogs and wolves world, of the risks they can represent, of our great share of responsibility and of what can be done to improve their lives and coexistence with them!

This dossier is based entirely on official data and publications, which you can find in the SOURCES & REFERENCES section. It has taken several months of research and writing, and has been produced with the kind collaboration of canine & lupine specialists (ethologists, biologists, veterinary behaviorists, educators, trainers and historians).

We recommend that you read this dossier preferably on a computer,  to ensure the best layout and avoid tiring your eyes (yes, we're also thinking about you and your comfort). You can also download this report from the link at the bottom of this page.
